Welcome to Havre de Grace Main Street!

The Havre de Grace Main Street program is one of a network of statewide, citywide, and countywide Main Street programs, with more than 2,100 active Main Street programs nationally.
All have been chartered by the National Trust for Historic Preservation over the past several years to revitalize their downtown business districts and preserve their historic character.
Cumulatively, the districts taking part in the program have

generated more than $45 billion in new investment, with a gain of more than 370,000 new jobs and 83,000 new businesses. Every $1 a community uses to support its local Main Street program leverages an average of $40.35 in new investment, making the Main Street program one of the most successful economic development strategies in America.
The Main Street District encompasses the downtown area delineated on the north by the railroad bridge at 500 Union Avenue, on the east by St. John Street and Market Street, on the south by Girard Street, and on the west by Freedom Lane. This geographical area also matches exactly the new Havre de Grace Arts & Entertainment District, recently designated by the State of Maryland, pursuant to application by Havre de Grace Main Street, Inc.

Main Street Needs Volunteers--Help Us Make a Fun Day For Everyone!
We need your help to make some of our plans for Havre de Grace successful. Our biggest need is for volunteers for the Graw Days Festival and Gala on October 11, to work now or on that day:
5 to 10 people to assist with marketing the event
3 to 5 people to work with the Promotion Committee to finalize some items
10 people on October 11 from 6:30 am to 10 am to assist with giving vendor directions
5 to 7 other people for 2-hour shifts around the Festival area and to serve beer in the beer garden
1 person to oversee the running of the Gala from 6:30 pm to 10:30 pm
9 to 10 people to collect tickets at the evening Gala, handle the silent auction, and run some game tables
