October 3, 2008: First Fridays Celebration, “Harvest in Havre de Grace.” A downtown celebration of the bounties of fall, 5 to 9 pm. Downtown Havre de Grace. October 5, 2008: The Art Rooms First Annual Artist Trading Cards (ATC) Swap. In celebration of International Art Month the Swap will take place at the Laurrapin Grille, 209 North Washington Street, from 2 to 4 pm. In addition, The Art Rooms, at 119 North Washington Street, will hold a mini art exhibition showcasing customers' ATCs. The Art Rooms has original Strathmore blank ATCs in packs of 10 and 20 sheets. October 10 and 11, 2008: Havre de Grace Haunted History and Ghost Tours, beginning 7 pm. $, reservations required. 410-939-1811. October 11, 2008: The Graw Days Festival. First annual free street festival downtown celebrating a significant era in Havre de Grace history—horse racing at "The Graw." The timeframe of the Festival will be the Roaring Twenties, with jazz and ragtime music in the streets (including the Peabody Ragtime Ensemble), period attire, a wide variety of local food, a beer garden, historic displays and presentations, elegant horse-drawn carriage rides, street performers, a silent auction, arts and crafts vendors, sidewalk sales, and games and contests (including pumpkin carving) for kids of all ages. These family-friendly daytime events will take place downtown from 10 am until 5 pm in streets closed to traffic. Graw Gala. In the evening, adults will enjoy an elegant Graw Gala--a 1920s-themed dance with music by the Swingin' Swamies, sumptious finger foods and bar, mouth-watering desserts, and a casino.
