First Fridays in 2009:
First Friday celebrations begin downtown with the blossoms of May and end with the arrival of Santa in December. Kicking off at 5:00 pm they all have musicians playing live music in the streets until 9 pm, dancing if you care to, stores and galleries open late, specials and discounts in our restaurants and stores, the Main Street Expo, the Beer Garden with food by the American Legion, a special interest car show, and fun and free activities for kids. And last but not least, our Arts by the Bay Gallery on Warren Street will be open displaying the creations of Harford County artists. 

 

July 3, 2009 – “Military Appreciation Friday.” A red, white, and blue celebration of the armed forces of the United States. Live music by Beaucoup Blue.

August 7, 2009 – “Meet Me in Margaritaville.” Downtown Havre de Grace turns into a tropical treat. Live music by Naked Blue.

September 4, 2009 – “In Service in Havre de Grace.” A celebration of our local service professionals. Live music by Mama's Black Sheep.

October 2, 2009 – “Harvest in Havre de Grace.” A downtown celebration of the bounties of fall. Live music by the Rowdy Boys.

November 6, 2009 – “Locals, Legends, and Lore.” Scavenger hunts, ghost tours, and things that go bump downtown.

December 4, 2009 – “A Downtown Christmas.” Christmas Parade, annual tree lighting, and arrival of Santa!

Havre de Grace Farmers' Market. Main Street has taken over the Farmers' Market and we have lots of vendors every Saturday through October. Fresh cut flowers; baked goods, herbs, perennials, bedding plants, hanging baskets; large variety of fresh produce, pork and beef, cheese and ice cream, honey, hand-made soap, alpaca wool, potted plants, annuals, hot breakfast sandwiches by Laurrapin Grille, and much more. 9 am to 12 noon. Pennington Avenue between Union and Washington. Don't miss seeing the baby alpacas!

Havre de Grace downtown First Friday, "Military Appreciation Friday." Live music, children's activities, Main Street Expo, stores open late, 5 to 9 pm around town (with Beaucoup Blues and  DaNica), shops and restaurants will have specials and stay open late, a Beer Garden and delicious food hot off the grille of the American Legion, the Main Street Expo, a raffle for a Gift Certificate, and entertainment for the kids, including Choo Choo Charlie with balloons, and face painting by Bambini Family Entertainment. In addition, there’s an antique and special interest car show on Franklin Street.
