A LOOK TO THE FUTURE
2012 Workplan: The Havre de Grace Main Street Board of Directors is working hard on its 2012 Workplan. Incremental steps are the way to achieve all of them. Some of the ambitious goals and objectives being worked on by our volunteers include:

Strengthening our partnership with city government

Identifying and maintaining a building inventory

Developing landlord relationships

Adding lights to the trees on St. John Street

Creating public restrooms in the Main Street district

Having a Main Street gateway sign

Promoting and educating re the Façade Improvement Program

Conducting community outreach and education

Building Main Street membership
-
Strengthening relationships with merchants and restaurants

Holding our first Annual Signature Event—The Graw Days
Becoming Clean, Safe and Green: In November 2007, Main Street Maryland announced the introduction of a new area of focus, “Clean, Safe, and Green,” to Maryland local programs. It will assist those programs in the development and implementation of these goals:
- Clean: To present a clean and well-maintained commercial district through simple and sustainable practices, including clean-up days and recycling. Safe: To create a safe neighborhood and enhance the perception of safety through environmental and community resources.
- Green: To augment the commercial district streetscape with beautification projects and practices in accordance with Smart Growth and green initiatives.
Havre de Grace Main Street Committees and volunteers have already begun working to achieve some of these objectives and will continue to do so throughout 2008.

Main Street Membership Cards: In addition to having member stickers, we now have Main Street Membership Cards for all members. Membership expiration dates are shown on each card, for your easy reference. If you haven’t received your card yet, please telephone 410-939-1811.
